In the city of Kanungu, Uganda, a fortunate person may sleep on a straw mat. However, most lack proper bedding and sleep directly on parasite-infested soil. As a result, many children and adults continuously suffer from boils that must be opened to remove the parasites. A mattress can be purchased for just $20 dollars.

Kanungu is situated in the mountains where the evenings can be quite cold. For many, the only covering they have when they sleep are rags. Sheets and a blanket can be purchased for an additional $20 dollars.

This means that $40 dollars will provide a person not only with a comfortable night’s sleep, but also significantly improved health conditions. Your contribution of any amount towards this project will make a great difference in the quality of life for the people of Kanungu.
